Academic Talent Acquisition Specialist

 

Description:

This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual, who will undertake recruitment in line with the university's recruitment and Qatarization plans and sourcing approach, with the aim to fairly recruit the right competencies to the right jobs within the university and in alignment with the annual plan and strategy for each academic college.

Candidates will monitor achievement of Academic Talent Acquisition plans periodically, and escalate deviations from plan to the Head, Talent Acquisition. S/he will research external Academic Talent Acquisition tools and services to enhance Academic Talent Acquisition process in line with current trends in the market.

The successful candidate will develop interview questions and assessment methods, in consultation with the Head, Talent Acquisition and conduct interviews ensuring the use of the appropriate techniques, facilitating the hiring of the most suitable candidate. S/he will also maintain a pool of qualified candidates for each position advertised from the applications that have been received and perform candidate searches on various online platforms.

The successful candidate will also update the university's website regrading academic openings and vacancies and ensure that the content reflects UDST's employee value proposition , in coordination with the Information Technology Directorate.

The successful candidate will provide support in organizing and attending recruitment events and job fairs to meet with potential candidates and promote UDST to the local and international markets and establish effective networks both internally (e.g. referral programs) and externally (e.g. agencies, external career fairs) to support sourcing strategies.

The successful candidate will populate employment contracts, conditional job offers, and acceptance/rejection letters and engage with candidates in a timely manner, in alignment with UDST’s established policies and procedures and processes.

Responsibilities also include to perform job analysis and evaluation as per approved systems of UDST and to liaise with the facilities department to ensure housing accommodation is provided to eligible joiners.

The Academic Talent Acquisition Specialist will liaise with Government Agencies and Government Employment Portals to support promoting the recruitment and retention of Qatari nationals.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree is required in Business Administration, Human Capital or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Recruitment or related field

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English is required

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is preferred

Other Required Skills:

Enthusiastic and ambitious team player with a high standard with a proactive can-do attitude to work and good time management is essential. The ability to think analytically and solve problems is required. Commitment to positive relationship building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organization is required. Knowledge of Labour Law and Legal Compliance is required. Knowledge of HR Administration and Relations is required. A Commitment to ongoing training and continuous professional development is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills.
