Description:
We are seeking an experienced Blasting and Painting Supervisor to oversee and coordinate blasting and painting activities in industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of internal blasting and hydro blasting techniques, along with a strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate blasting and painting operations on-site, ensuring adherence to project specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to blasting and painting teams, ensuring efficient and effective execution of tasks.
- Conduct inspections of work areas, equipment, and materials to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality requirements.
- Develop and implement work plans and schedules, allocating resources appropriately to meet project objectives.
- Train and mentor team members on proper blasting and painting techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of blasting and painting materials, equipment, and supplies, ordering replacements as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute blasting and painting activities according to project specifications.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices for waste disposal and containment during blasting and painting operations.
- Document work progress, issues, and resolutions, preparing reports as necessary for project stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement, implementing corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in blasting and painting techniques preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial blasting and painting operations, with a focus on internal blasting and hydro blasting.
- Proven supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve project goals.
- Thorough understanding of blasting and painting equipment, materials, and techniques, including knowledge of abrasive selection, surface preparation, and coating application methods.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to blasting and painting activities, including confined space entry procedures and hazard communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office suite and project management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
