Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with project stakeholders to gather requirements, formulate business specifications, and translate them into functional business solutions.
- Document workflows (As-Is and To-Be) and secure sign-offs from users on business specifications.
- Assist the technical team in translating application functionality into application architecture and producing functional requirement statements.
- Collaborate with IT to assess system capacity and determine project feasibility.
- Analyze departmental production processes and support workflow redesign, particularly in accounting operations.
- Support reconciliation owners to:
- Optimize data inflows for all required reconciliations.
- Develop automated dashboards to monitor matching, aging, data quality, and effectiveness.
- Automate manual reconciliation processes with proactive exception management controls.
- Leverage expertise in financial reconciliation software (e.g., IntelliMatch) and other tools such as TLM Reconciliations Premium or SmartStream TLM Reconciliations.
- Ensure alignment with financial settlement software and global settlement standards.
- Apply a strong understanding of database management, including data modeling and design.
- Analyze complex financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate reconciliations.
- Act as a self-motivated problem-solver in a fast-paced environment, driving improvements in settlements and reconciliation processes.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in defining reconciliation models for banking products.
- Deep understanding of local and international settlements.
- Strong expertise in issuing and acquiring processes (Debit, Credit, POS, e-commerce, disputes, etc.).
- Full understanding of scheme rules, transaction flows, and message formats.
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking product accounting schemes and financial models.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts (e.g., general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable).
- Familiarity with FX impacts and processing flows.
- Expertise in clearing and settlement of card scheme files and preparation of financial reports.
- Proficient in managing suspense account movements and proof sheets.
- Proven ability to automate manual processes while implementing the required controls and efficiency measures.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience.
Systems Experience:
- Knowledge of FIS Data Integrity Manager (IntelliMatch) is highly desirable.
- Experience with systems like Finastra Misys/Equation, Tsys Prime, or Openway Way4 is highly desirable.
- Experience with robotic tools for process automation is a plus.
