Required Skills:
- Hardware Setup and Maintenance: Proficient in preparing, staging, setting up, and performing startups and shutdowns of data center hardware components (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) following specific instructions and protocols.
- Troubleshooting: Skilled in diagnosing issues using standard procedures, identifying root causes of problems, and replacing faulty components to minimize disruptions.
- Quality Assurance: Able to conduct post-execution quality checks, ensuring proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling in alignment with safety protocols and deployment standards.
- Decommissioning: Capable of decommissioning hardware for routine changes and upgrades (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following established procedures.
- Communication and Reporting: Proficient in communicating incidents, reporting issues, and escalating matters to appropriate management, maintaining clear and concise documentation.
- Safety Compliance: Knowledgeable about safety protocols, equipment use, and hazard prevention in a data center environment; participates in safety briefings and training.

Qualifications and Required Skills Summary:
- Education: Associate degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1+ years of hands-on experience working in a data center.
- Server Hardware Knowledge: Exceptional understanding of server hardware components and various system type failures.
- Failure Analysis: Ability to assist in conducting failure analysis on field issues to identify root causes and develop solutions.
- Server Fleet Management: Capable of tracking server fleet health to identify trends, new issues, and ensure customer SLAs are maintained.
- IPMI Utilization: Proficient in utilizing Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) for diagnostics and management.
- Software Administration: Skilled in administering software tools, including diagnostics, tests, and firmware updates.
- Real-time Issue Resolution: Experienced in resolving issues in real-time during deployment execution.
- Operating Systems: Strong experience in Windows Server OS and WinPE OS administration.
- Linux Skills: Familiarity with Linux PXE services is a plus.
- Network Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot network issues at Layer-1, Layer-2, and Layer-3.
- Scripting: Basic scripting experience in both Linux and Windows environments.
- Virtualization: Proficient in setting up virtual machines and configuring virtualized environments.
- Autonomous Work: Ability to work independently or within a geographically dispersed team environment.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience, CompTIA Server+ or equivalent experience, CCENT or equivalent experience.
- Additional Certifications: CCNA certification preferred, MCP/MSCE certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Safely climb ladders as needed.
- Wear personal protective gear correctly when required.
- Stand and walk throughout the facility for extended periods without loss of productivity.
