OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for all aspects of the Engineering department including the proper operation, maintenance and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration and mechanical equipment.
Develop, coordinate, and monitor a rooms maintenance program to ensure the safety and comfort of all associates and guests. Supervise, train, and manage all Engineering associates. Manages the efficient and safe operation of all plant, equipment, ancillary maintenance, and repairs towards protection of the property asset including structural aspects of the building.
QUALIFICATIONS: ·
Experience:
At least 10 years’ experience in the hotel engineering operation in which min five years as Director of Engineering with pre-opening experience. Technical Skills: Working knowledge of plumbing codes, electrical codes, national/local fire codes, local mechanical codes, water treatment programs, blue prints and plumbing and wiring schematics, power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades, knowledge of all mechanical equipment critical to the operation of the building; ability to prepare budgets and ensure cost controls, enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures with Engineering associates, prioritize and organize work assignments; delegate work to Supervisors and associates, direct performance of associates and follow up with corrections where needed, instruct/direct associates in the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment, ascertain associates training needs and provide such training; troubleshoot and use alternatives in emergency situations, ensure security and confidentiality of all hotel information, interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems.
