Description:
We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Distribution Manager to oversee our distribution operations. The Distribution Manager will be responsible for managing the movement of goods from our warehouses to various distribution points while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement distribution strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the distribution center, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock rotation to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Train and supervise distribution center staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination of activities.
- Resolve any issues or concerns related to distribution operations, including order discrepancies, damaged goods, and delivery delays.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, including transportation regulations and quality standards.
- Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in distribution operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in distribution management, preferably in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of distribution processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a diverse team.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
