The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join the team in Doha to work on some of the most exciting construction design projects in the Middle East and worldwide. Working closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice, you will provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Critical Systems and Retail.
You will also lead ELV design packages and coordinate closely with stake holders.
Under the guidance of our team of expert engineers this wide-ranging role will require you to carry out detailed Electrical Building Services engineering design and analysis, defining and translating clients’ needs into designs for buildings, facilities and services (electrical distribution and power generation, security and access control) all with sustainability at the forefront of the design. Knowledge and experience on MEP electrical and ELV designs is required for the role.
You will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop and supported through relevant accredited professional development programmes.
The Skills
- Accredited with a MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, you have a real interest in sustainable Building Services design and analysis for the built environment, and crucially - have a passion for creative and intuitive design as well as a thirst for personal development and career progression.
- Relevant experience in an electrical engineering role within a building services consultancy context and you are already well versed in the use of relevant design software.
- You have a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, are able to manage your own time to meet deadlines and you have an appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
- Given the collaborative and client focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
- Candidate should have Design and Site Supervision Experience for the Electrical and ELV systems such as (Power, Lighting, earthing, lightning protection, CCTV, Access Control, Audio Visual, PA, IPTV, Structured cabling and others).
- You should be able create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
- Comfortable liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, and the overall project manager.
- Candidate should provide sound technical advice and be able to solve problems on site.
- You will be expected to submit daily site reports, inspection requests, estimates and all applicable monitoring reports as required.
- Candidate should have proven site experience involving the successful handover of projects to local municipalities, including KAHRAMAA, and QCDD.
- Good knowledge of Dialux, Amtech and Revit.
- Qatar UPDA Grade A is preferable andexperience of working in Qatar is essential.
