Integration Engineer

 

Description:

Working in support of the Design & Development Lead, assist in the development and implementation of all required config control, validation/verification, and certification activities for all training artefacts, integration of training devices, and config control of all associated engineering documents, ensuring that BAE Systems (Air) Engineering and Training governance mandates, policies and standards are implemented.

Working in support of the Technical Operations Manager, the Training Integration Engineer will assist in the update and implementation of all required Engineering/Product Safety Management plans. These plans will include all relevant policies, procedures, and reporting systems, ensuring that the TI can demonstrate adherence company Policies.

They will also support the implementation of the Product Safety Management System (PSMS) and all associated documentation; organising and providing inputs and secretariat services to SAG, HMM, & PSEC meetings; assist the Technical Operation Manager in preparing inputs to the QPSM.

They will be required to provide guidance to all areas of the project to ensure that Product Safety risks associated with operations are appropriately managed and mitigated, and will work closely with the SHE associate to ensure that SHE aspects of safety are properly governed.

Core Activities
 

  • Support the Design & Development lead in the production and preparation of certification documentation and validation activities for configurable item deliverables.
  • Support the Technical Operations Manager in Engineering Governance, Design and Certification activities, and the maintenance of all training & engineering related documents.
  • Support the Technical Operations Manager in ensuring the PSMS meets all contractual and regulatory requirements. Support the safe introduction of new capabilities.
  • Produce reports for management, at varying frequencies, as appropriate. Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to support engineering/ product safety activities.

  • Provide advice and guidance to the training delivery teams on training and configurable item governance related issues.
     

Key Accountabilities
 

  • Config control and certification of all training Configurable Items and documents.
  • Upkeep of all engineering and training related documentation.
  • Control and implementation of the PSMS and associated documents.
  • Act as focal point for promoting the Safety & SHE culture.
     

Requirements
 

  • Understanding of the Training Lifecycle and applicable training mandates and policies.
  • The ability to promote change and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Must be able to coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic operating environment, working with a high degree of autonomy.
  • An understanding of Product Safety, hazard identification & mitigation logs, safety justifications and fault analysis.
  • An understanding of Life Cycle Management, Engineering & Design Governance, Requirements Management, and Configuration Control and the application of related BAE Systems policies.
  • Competent in the use of IT, spreadsheets, word processing and database management.
  • Knowledge of the functionality and experience of administering SharePoint is desirable.
  • Experience in the application and use of Goal Structured Notation is desirable.
  • Successful completion of Product Safety Courses (e.g., Introduction to System Safety Engineering & Management Part A) is desirable.
