Description:
The Logistics Executive is responsible for coordinating and overseeing various aspects of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and supply chain processes. They play a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods and materials to meet customer demands while optimizing costs and maintaining high service levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Transportation Management: Coordinate the movement of goods and materials by selecting appropriate transportation modes, carriers, and routes to ensure timely delivery while minimizing costs.
- Warehousing and Inventory Control: Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping activities to maintain optimal inventory levels and accuracy.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and other stakeholders to streamline supply chain processes and ensure seamless coordination across all stages of the logistics network.
- Order Fulfillment: Monitor order processing and fulfillment activities to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction while adhering to service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.
- Inventory Management: Implement inventory control measures, such as cycle counting, stock replenishment, and obsolete inventory management, to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, import/export laws, and customs regulations by maintaining accurate documentation and facilitating customs clearance procedures.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and logistics metrics to evaluate operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other vendors to negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and resolve issues effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing best practices, adopting new technologies, and optimizing processes to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
- Customer Service: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and customer service representatives, to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field; Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) preferred.
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related field, with a strong understanding of logistics processes, transportation modes, and warehouse operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and develop actionable insights.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and electronic data interchange (EDI) platforms.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, international trade regulations, and customs procedures related to logistics and supply chain operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.
