As a Language Modeling Engineer, you will join the ASR R&D team in order to work on challenging problems that have a concrete impact on real-world applications. In this position your work will have an impact on real users around the world. You'll play a role that combines research and development of cutting-edge technologies by keeping up to date on the most advanced algorithms in related fields, evaluating customer usage patterns through big data analysis, and building models to improve the basic ASR accuracy of individual products.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform experiments to evaluate the quality of linguistic models and study the effect of linguistic modeling variants and auxiliary natural language processing technology on speech recognition accuracy.
• Identify, optimize, and cluster training data.
• Analyze product usage data to identify areas of possible improvement or refinement of language modeling processes, methods, and PLN techniques.
• Debate and present ideas, progress and results within the research team.
• Enhance the performance of linguistic modeling in various languages.

Education and certifications:

Master's or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field.

Required Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in speech technology, computational linguistics, statistical machine translation and/or natural language processing (internship experience accepted)
• Strong software engineering skills, knowledge of programming languages (e.g. shell scripting, Perl, Python)
• Experience working on both Linux and Windows systems.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience either on-the-job or academic background in large-vocabulary speech recognition.
• Track record in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, statistical modeling, information retrieval, deep learning, data mining, linguistics.
• Proficiency in a second non-English language.
