Summary

HII – Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Network Communications person to be assigned to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar who will be responsible for operating and maintaining customer’s networks and ensuring requirements are met. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure and systems, ensuring optimal performance and security. In addition to your base salary this role will provide assistance with housing and other necessitates required to reside in Qatar.

What You Will Do
 

  • A proven track record of performance with technical responsibility and an in-depth understanding and mastery of network including but not limited to routing, VPN, Firewall, QOS, VOIP, F5, IT management and monitoring software solutions.
  • Manage the services provided by the Infrastructure team to ensure high quality of performance in implementations and networking in compliance with the IT guiding principles.
  • Deliver projects within cost, time, scope & quality standards.
  • Maintain the highest level of service availability within minimum service downtime.
  • Manage to test and evaluate unified communications, telephony and network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
  • Liaise with network support staff at branches globally in evaluating their existing network infrastructure and propose solutions to optimize their network infrastructure.
  • Experience with design, implementation, and migration of complex network and communications projects.
  • Routing and Switching experience with Cisco IOS
  • Firewall and load balancing implementation experience.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols.
  • Understanding of VLAN, SVI, STP, VDC, VPC.
  • Understanding of DNS and DHCP.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network and system connectivity issues.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently or as a contributing member to the team.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
     

What We Are Looking For
 

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Experience monitoring information, system networks, troubleshooting communications equipment, and determine the structure of network systems.
  • Experience leading enterprise projects for networks and storage.
  • Experience testing equipment such as: cable and fiber optics.
  • Cisco wireless networking and management experience.
  • Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Documenting network enterprise, developing continuity folders, and as built drawings.
  • Posses one or all of the following certifications: A+, Net+, Sec+, ITIL, CCNA
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have the ability to successfully pass CENTCOM medical requirements.
  • Must possess a valid U.S Passport.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI with ability to obtain a polygraph.

  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification
     

Physical Requirements

This position may be located in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit / 50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time.
