Description:
We have an urgent requirement for a Palo Alto and F5 Engineer for an initial 1-year contract to be based in Doha, Qatar.
The SME is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Palo Alto and F5 devices . This position focuses on managing the devices and perform any required integrations/scripting to enhance the security. He should be able to lead the conversations with the vendors in the design sessions and act like a technical authority for anything related to these products.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network solutions using Palo Alto and F5 technologies, including firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and security appliances.
- Configure and optimize Palo Alto and F5 devices to meet network requirements and security standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to Palo Alto and F5 technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess network requirements and develop scalable and reliable solutions.
- Perform regular maintenance and upgrades on Palo Alto and F5 devices to ensure system reliability and security.
- Monitor network performance and implement proactive measures to optimize network resources and mitigate potential issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams, including network administrators and system engineers.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices related to Palo Alto and F5 technologies.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Palo Alto and F5 technologies.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including PAN-OS, security policies, NAT, and VPN configurations.
- Expertise in F5 load balancers, including LTM, GTM, and ASM modules, and experience with F5 iRules and iApps.
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, and VPN technologies.
- Familiarity with network security principles and best practices, including intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) and security event management (SIEM) solutions.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications, such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator, are highly desirable.
