Description:
Oversee and manage all onshore production activities, supervising shift team/ activities across all operating areas, to ensure the plant operates efficiently and safely in line with plant operating procedures, production targets, and HSE&S standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and supervise operations of all operating in order to achieve planned production targets within design parameters, whilst also ensuring shift controllers coordinate the required laboratory analysis and input from other Operations and Technical staff.
- Supervise the shift team activities whilst taking into consideration any maintenance work and any major expansion or other projects.
- Oversee and manage the commissioning and start-up activities in accordance with the approved operating procedures.
- Communicate and liaise with Field Maintenance, Laboratory, Offshore production and other shift controllers and superintendents to exchange information, coordinate activities and follow up on various operational issues.
- Review and analyze the overall operations and production units’ performance in order to provide inputs and updates to Senior Manager Onshore Production on operations and production, whilst supporting the continuity and integrity of overall plant operations.
- Plan and manage the capital and operating budgets for production operations in coordination with Senior Manager Onshore Production, monitoring and reconciling capital and operating expenditure against planned budget and investigating any variances to ensure effective cost control and review performance.
- Ensure regular inspections are conducted during to identify abnormalities, potential hazards or unsafe conditions, and takes appropriate action within the established guidelines.
- Oversee job risk analysis and ensure work permits are properly issued / reviewed so that jobs are executed correctly and any unsafe permits and activities are stopped.
- Oversee and ensure the effective distribution of information from Shift Panel Operators to Shift Controllers and Panel Operators, as well as any third party (Operations Engineering, Technical, etc.), in addition to supervising the coordination of operational activities to minimise miscommunications and loss of production.
- Oversee the coordination between Shift Panel Operators and Field Maintenance / Shift Controllers for equipment changeover, instrument loop checks, and any other maintenance work that may directly or indirectly affect plant or plant conditions, in addition to generating maintenance work orders and endorsing related permits to work.
- Oversee and review requisitions for materials and supplies required for plant operations.
- Ensure plant operational status is communicated both verbally and in writing at all shift changeovers, in addition to overseeing the management and updating of shift report logbooks, whilst also overseeing the maintenance of all registers in regard to plant operations (inhibits and bypass recording) as per procedural documentation.
- Monitor and manage the performance of the Production Operations against agreed KPIs and ensure continuous improvement of operations.
- Ensure initial incident investigations are conducted and that all accidents, incidents or near misses occurring during the shift are properly reported as per established procedures.
- Lead the development of “Operating Procedures”, and oversee the implementation of “Method Statements” and “Technical, Safety and Environmental Procedures”.
- Act as Emergency Manager as per company emergency response plan until relieved by a higher authority.
- Participate in plant operations management meetings and programs including reliability improvement programs, problem identification, root cause analysis meetings to support the Senior Manager Onshore Production with recommendations to overcome existing or potential problems.
- Conduct annual performance appraisal of direct reports.
- Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned by the Senior Manager Onshore Production.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Educational Requirements / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
8 years’ relevant experience in in similar oil/gas processing and production operations, including at least 4 years in positions of progressively increasing supervisory responsibilities.
