Procurement Engineer

Description:

Procurement Engineer is responsible for analysing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with client’s representative and Project Managers. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and adaptability in a dynamic environment are crucial for success.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Reviewing construction plans and preparing the BOQ, quantity requirements.

2. Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.

3. Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.

4. Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.

5. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

6. Meeting clients or client representative to determine their needs and discuss any areas that need revising for price or feasibility.

7. Calculating material quantities and costs, labour costs and an achievable project timeframe

8. Monitoring subcontractors, safety practices, construction progress and material need, including any changes which may impact costs.

9. Preparing subcontractor accounts for payment.

10. Preparing reports detailing costs, variance and progress claims for clients.

Desired Candidate Profile

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Especially Civil or Mechanical)

* CIPM certified or equivalent qualification

* Minimum of 07 years of experience in construction industry
