Qa/qc Engineer

Description:

Responsibilities:

• Documents procedures, root cause analysis, and recommendations for all tasks performed.
• Conversant with QA/QC Procedures, International codes, and standards such as (ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM, BS: EN, IMDG, OEM Specification sheets/Manuals/Instruction and Client documents etc.
• Verifying & reviewing incoming materials against related documents like GA drawing, BOM, P&ID, client spec sheet, etc...
• Preparation of ITP, Quality procedures, Method statement, Nonconformities , Test Report, Inspection /Completion Report etc.
• Manage audits (Internal/External) and maintain records as per company protocol.
• Site Survey, Monitoring, Controlling and inspection of functional, dismantling, overhaul, change worn parts of all types of valves and Actuators (Pneumatic / Hydraulics)
• Safety Valves: Supervision/ Inspection / Witnessing of all types of safety valves / Pressure relief valves / -Vacuum breather/ Surge relief valves in terms of material verification, pre-test, stripping, parts inspection, spares verification, dimension verification, lapping, polishing, surface flatness, assembly, testing and witness as per international standard/client requirement.
• Control Valves: Supervision/Inspection/Functional test/Calibration of all different types of control valves like Visual inspection, pre-test, coupling, decoupling, bench setting, lapping/Machining of contact seating surfaces, internal parts inspection, actuator overhaul & assembly (Piston/Diaphragm type), Seat test, hydro-test, Gas test, stroke test and functional test.
• Mechanical Valves: Supervision/Inspection/Functional of all different types of manual valves (Gate, Ball, Globe, Butterfly, Check, Diaphragm & damper valves) in terms of material selection, parts inspection, spare verification, overhaul, assembly, pressure test and functional test as per standard/OEM Manual/Client requirement.
• Wellhead valves/ Equipment: Supervision/Inspection of overhaul, Parts, Soft goods, pressure test and NDT (via TP) for all types of wellhead valves (Low torque, valve, Gate, Christmas trees valves and chicks an equipment (Pipes, loops, swivels, elbows, Y-connection etc.)
• Instruments: Supervision/Inspection of functional & calibration tests of different instruments like Regulator, Positioner, Limit switch, SOV's, pressure/Flow/level transmitter, level gauges etc.
• Witnessing of all types of testing (Hydro, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Functional, Stroke, Pop, seat, blow down and calibration) based on international standard like ASME, ANSI, API, BS, IMDG (or) Customer / OEM requirement
• PMI (Positive Material Identification): Inspection/Verification of all various materials by using PMI tool/instrument fully portable analyzer with integrated PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) computer. Generate PMI reports based on every material inspection, self-review, and client submission.
• Oxygen Service Equipment: Handling / Cleaning / Inspections / Report preparation of all oxygen equipment in accordance with OEM/International/In-house procedures. Especially inspection of all type of valves and mechanical equipments for oxygen services in terms of Material selection/verification, visual inspection, identify contaminants, eliminate explosion hazards, degreasing, rinsing, nitrogen purging, acid cleaning, pressure test, wipe test, white light inspection and UV light inspection.
• OFFSHORE CCU and Tanks: Inspection, identify & confirm the unit constructed based on International regulation/customer requirement. Obtain a copy of certification, last inspection, visual dates are aligned so that unit is not out of compliance. Ensure the CCU's & tanks can be classed as empty. Visual examination of units, lifting slings, shackles, and general condition of corrosion on structures. Inspection & report preparation of preventive maintenance (Service, Parts replacement, hydro test & leak test) for offshore tankers & its associated service equipment in accordance with IMDG standards.
• Blasting / Painting / Coating: Knowledge and efficient performance in the blasting and painting process. Inspection of surface preparation, record atmospheric temperature prior to paint operation, carry out wet and dry film thickness checks, verifying correct colour coding & paints, visual inspection, paint thickness checks and report preparation.
• Selection / Self review of paint/coating product sheet and MSDS based on requirements.
• Knowledge, experience and familiar with following products: BHGE (GE), Masoneilan, Consolidated, Dresser, Flowserve, Rotork, Masterflo, Emseron, Fisher, Bettis, Velan, Anderson greenwood crosby, Sarasin, Tai Milano, Severn glocon, Fukui, Farris Engineering, Birkett, Parker etc.
• Knowledge in recommendation and ordering of new spares from OEM based on product detailed inspection

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering (Instrumentation/Mechanical).
• Expert level knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing all types of valves.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Technical knowledge, expertise and capabilities to read and understand hydraulic and electrical circuit equipment.
• Experience Range: 10 years
