1. Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Accounts Payable: Involves processing bills and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
  • Accounts Receivable: Involves tracking and collecting payments from customers.
  • Reconciliation: Ensuring the accuracy of these accounts and resolving any discrepancies.

2. Petty Cash Management:

  • Managing the company’s petty cash fund, which involves keeping track of small cash expenses and ensuring proper documentation.

3. Invoice Preparation:

  • Creating and sending invoices to clients or customers and ensuring that all information is accurate. This also involves following up on outstanding invoices.

4. Payroll Assistance:

  • Supporting the payroll process, including entering data and ensuring employees are paid correctly. Experience with Wage Protection System (WPS) indicates familiarity with regional payroll regulations.

5. Reconciliation:

  • Comparing and reconciling financial records such as bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy and resolve any issues.

6. Excel Proficiency:

  • Using advanced features in Excel to manage, analyze, and report financial data. This includes creating complex spreadsheets and financial models.

Qualifications:

Requirements needed for the role:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically preferred.
  • Experience: Some relevant experience ( 2-6 years ) in accounting or a similar role is usually required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Excel are needed for managing and analyzing data.
  • Payroll Knowledge: Familiarity with payroll systems, especially Wage Protection System (WPS), is important.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy is required in financial tasks to avoid errors.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills are necessary for interacting with team members and possibly clients.
