Description:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing care to patients while adhering to compliance standards. This candidate should be able to recognize patient needs and prioritize those needs with the needs outlined by physicians.
Responsibilities
- Assure quality care by adhering to standards set by the physicians
- Provide care education to patients in person or over the phone
- Adhere to compliance guidelines throughout processes (OSHA, FDA, HIPAA)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including physical, psychological, and social factors.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans based on assessment findings and evidence-based practices. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians. Monitor patients' responses to interventions and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.
- Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and best interests within the healthcare system.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, including nursing assessments, care plans, progress notes, and medication administration records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and other allied health professionals, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and trauma situations.
- Promote health and wellness through preventive measures such as immunizations, screenings, and health education programs.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects to enhance the delivery of patient care.
- Pursue ongoing education and training to maintain licensure and enhance clinical competence.
- Conducts periodic health assessments and screenings to monitor health status and detect early signs of work-related illnesses or injuries.
- Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize workload independently.
- To work with members of the multi-disciplinary team, to ensure optimal outcomes for the patient.
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function in stressful situations.
- Adheres to dress code; appearance is professional, neat and clean.
- Always maintains patient confidentiality.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
- Complies with all organizational policies.
