Description:

Managing their own portfolio by selling various types of insurance policies to businesses and individuals on behalf of the company, including automobile, fire, life, property, medical insurance, or specialized policies such as marine and medical malpractice. Guide and provide assistance to their subordinates.

2. Detailed Roles and Responsibilities

  • Seek new clients through networking and calling lists of prospective clients on a weekly basis.
  • Self-generate sales lead from various engagement initiatives within a defined territory
  • Proactively contact all leads and schedule appointments to recommend appropriate insurance, quote, and place coverage.
  • Determine specific clients’ needs by researching current coverage and options, and grow and maintain business through product sales, cross sales, referrals, your circle of influence, and renewals.
  • Obtain underwriting approval through completion of coverage application
  • Attend programs, seminars, and meetings to learn about new services and products, receive technical assistance, and learn new marketing and selling skills.
  • Delivering insurance documents to the customers
  • Monitor any claims made to guarantee that both the insurer and the client are compensated fairly.
  • Assisting debt collectors at times of difficulty by following up with customers.
  • Maintain and update an organized agenda detailing quotas, territory analyses, and results reports
  • Achieve consistent sales over time, even in periods of change in consumer interest
  • Study sales volume and industry trends to understand how to best penetrate the market and gain consumer interest
  • Work quickly to solve consumer complaints to retain business, and build the company’s reputation
  • Regularly visit existing accounts to maintain professional business relations
  • Research and cold call to identify potential customers and to find out their needs
  • Encourage teamwork within the sales team and be an example to other sales professionals
  • Maintain integrity and honesty, and deal ethically with consumers no matter the situation
  • Promptly submit orders and follow through to ensure customer requests are honored
  • Stay current with industry trends, monitor competition, and learn merchandising techniques to improve performance
  • Create and deliver sales presentations that are compelling, accurate, and informative
