Senior Business Development Manager

 

Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for building a network of clients throughout DACH, Italy, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa. You will be given independence and responsibility to build your territory as well as managing the existing accounts within the region. This is a B2B role as your main customer base will be IVD and OEM companies. Some examples of the targeted application areas include molecular diagnostic assays and diagnostic immunoassays and your product portfolio will consist of antibodies, enzymes, reagents, raw materials, nanoparticles, and services. One of the major focusses for this company is to sell custom services specific to customer requirements, for example one service could include designing molecular testing kits for companies which have funding but lack the facilities to produce the kits themselves. Due to this tailored approach to sales, the ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field and a working knowledge of the technical aspects of the diagnostics industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Be responsible for new business development accounts throughout your territory and act as the primary point of contact for current accounts
  • Build new business development opportunities within the respective territory to expand product sales across the company’s product portfolios and services into IVD and OEM customer base
  • Explore and develop new and existing projects
  • Manage customer expectations for new product sample evaluation timelines to ensure accurate forecasting
  • Understand the market state and trends to build strategic action items that will expand company influence and sales within the various product catalogues
  • Work with the Field Application Scientist team to co-ordinate application support and project follow-ups
  • Use customer databases to research account and sales histories to outline future growth strategies to increase expansion within existing accounts
  • Territory travel approximately 50%

What You Bring

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field
  • Diagnostics or life science industry experience preferred
  • A track record of at least 5 years technical sales experience
  • Previous CRM experience
  • An established and relevant network of contacts that would be interested in buying the products and services that this company provides

Skills & Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of the science behind diagnostics, molecular biology, and genetics
  • Strong English communication, including communication regarding non-technical subjects
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexible travel schedule during the working week

The salary package for this position is highly competitive and comes with an uncapped commission structure. The company are looking for someone to be a voice within the field and contribute to the strategic development of the sales team in EMEA and beyond. This position has great potential for growth and the timescale for this is dependent wholly on the candidate's success in the field.
