Senior Business Development Manager

 

Description:

We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager for FinTech & Partnerships to join our Business Development organization. The successful candidate will be tasked with identifying, negotiating, and managing partnerships and initiatives aimed at driving growth within non-banking financial institutions such as FinTechs, Payment facilitators, Mobile network operators (MNO), and Money transfer operators (MTO) across the Qatar & Kuwait markets.

The role demands an experienced business development professional who can collaborate effectively with the Country Manager and the GCC Fintech Lead. The key responsibilities will include devising strategies, executing plans to attract and manage ongoing relationships, and leveraging relevant Visa assets and capabilities to position Visa as the preferred partner and increase our market share. Achieving these objectives will require collaborating with a variety of cross functional Visa teams to deliver the best of Visa, including Products, Commercial and Money Movement Solutions, Visa Consulting & Analytics, Client Services, and Marketing.

This role will directly report to the VP and General Manager for Qatar and Kuwait, with a dual reporting line to the GCC Fintech & Partnerships Lead.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Drive market development through scouting and sourcing of emerging players
  • Develop and execute customized account strategy, objectives and plans to increase revenue and market share for non-banking financial institutions in Qatar & Kuwait markets
  • Lead the account and relationship management and sales plan for these accounts, ensuring that the client’s business objectives are met
  • Working with the cross functional team: recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to grow client’s business
  • Continuously review market landscape, identifying partnership opportunities and solution offerings that will position Visa as the market leader
  • Align the cross-functional teams on key proposals including representation from Legal, Marketing, Product, Client services, Market Research and Technology.
  • Support the development, negotiation and signing of proposals by working with various internal stakeholders and relationships with strategic partner executives
     

Segment/Regional Expertise
 

  • Deep understanding of key regulatory perspectives that impact digital bank operating model (e.g. eKYC, licensing, digital issuing, sandbox, etc.)
  • Engagement with non-FI issuers who will require ongoing management of card portfolios and digital capabilities
  • Identify strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities through a strong understanding of the Segment/Region and customer's business needs, leveraging Visa solutions across all product platforms.
     

Execution
 

  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure partner implementations are on track and delivering against plan
  • Take the lead in solving the problems that arise during the execution of programs with partners
  • Proactively identify and solve complex problems that impact the management, relationship and direction of the business
