Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Management, negotiation and drafting of affiliate contracts, in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Management, negotiation and drafting of programme acquisition contracts for our channels and any other services (OTT, VOD, SVOD platforms) with US Studios, as well as independent distributors, in accordance with beIN’s acquisitions policy.
- Negotiation of entertainment contracts (acquisition and production) in diverse territories.
- Tracking all programme rights and ensuring rights are acquired as necessary to service the entertainment services.
- Providing day-to-day interface with commercial teams as required to ensure clear communication and proactive management of ongoing matters.
- Identifying and responding to the needs of the entertainment division.
- Providing legal advice to internal departments at the request of management.
- Strengthening relationships with current partners and developing new relationships with potential business contacts.
- Remaining up to date on legislation and other important developments within the sector.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working as a business lawyer expert in acquisition and production contents.
- You possess excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
- You are proactive and autonomous, possess the ability to lead and are an excellent negotiator.
- You are able to deal with a high work load and remain calm under pressure.
- You are bilingual in English & Arabic. Arabic speaking & writing skills are required.
- Depth knowledge of rights regulations, IP regulations, commercial, local and international law.
- Previous experience in the TV / broadcasting or media industry.
- Production experience is an advantage.
