Senior Legal Counsel

Senior Legal Counsel opportunity in Qatar that can offer sponsorship.

This person role will be reporting to the General Counsel and is part of a legal team of 7 other lawyers. You must be a qualified lawyer or solicitor and have experience in UK law with a minimum of 8 PQE and up to 15 PQE ideally.

The role involves providing legal advice for large fleet of owned vessels, including corporate, shipping, commercial and compliance matters. The shipowner is looking for a qualified lawyer that has strong contract and drafting skills including charterparties, who is a self-starter that can work independently. There is limited litigation work, so strong contract drafting experience is essential.

The shipping company is expending the fleet, so ship finance and ship sale and purchase (S&P) experience would be beneficial. This is an interesting role because of the breadth and variety of the work and the JVs add an interesting dimension to the role.
