Description:
Senior oil spill responders shall:
- Be able to carry out oil spill response activities, as and when required by QatarEnergy; in coordination with QatarEnergy representative.
- Be capable of operating the oil spill response equipment.
- Be capable of effectively leading the oil spill responders during oil spill response operations.
- Ensure that QatarEnergy Base Supervisor is fully aware of any problems likely to affect the response readiness of the operating Base.
- Continuously develop and maintain the appropriate knowledge and skills to aid effective performance through participating in drills and operational exercises.
- Ensure that all relevant activities are carried out with due regard to personal safety, the safety of others, and environmental considerations in line with QatarEnergy policies and procedures.
- Carry out the general housekeeping and look after the response readiness, at the Oil Spill Response Bases and stockpiles.
- Carry out equipment checking (As per operational work instruction) and service (cleaning and fluids top-up) of the oil spill response equipment, including response vessels, as instructed by QatarEnergy representative.
- Take an active part in Toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis, risk assessment, and any other safety duty, as deemed necessary by the relevant QatarEnergy Base Supervisor.
- Ensure that all operational activities are carried out with due regard to personal safety, the safety of others, and environmental considerations in line with QatarEnergy policies and procedures.
Qualifications And Experience
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required are:
- Completed the H2S training, T-BOSIET, Basic Rigging & Slinging, and Safety Courses related to working offshore/ Onshore.
- Must be able to speak and write in English and has the ability and experience to manage a small team.
- Have at least three (03) years of experience in Oil & Gas / marine-related industry with knowledge of oil spill response operations.
- Have good computer skills and can write a report.
- Have a valid High school certificate / diploma or equivalent attested by the official authorities.
- Basic seamanship skills including line handling, rigging, small boat operations, anchoring, and mooring are required. Be physically fit and able to swim and have a valid Offshore medical fitness certificate.
