Valve Technician

 

Description:

     Perform visual inspections and diagnostics on various industrial valves (e.g., ball valves, gate valves, check valves, control valves, pressure safety valves).
·       Identify faults, wear, corrosion, and leaks to determine necessary repairs.
·       Disassemble, clean, and reassemble valves according to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) guidelines.
·       Replace or repair valve components such as seals, gaskets, actuators, diaphragms, and springs.
·       Conduct grinding, lapping, machining, and welding (if required) to restore valve functionality.
·       Conduct hydrostatic pressure tests, leakage tests, and functional tests.
·       Set and adjust valve opening pressures using testing equipment.
·       Calibrate control valves and actuators to meet operational specifications.
·       Install new valves in pipelines, ensuring proper alignment and secure fittings.
·       Assist with system startups and troubleshooting valve-related issues.
·       Verify correct valve operation after installation or servicing.
·       Hands-on experience with manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and motorized valves.
·       Ability to use torque wrenches, pressure testing rigs, and calibration tools.
·       Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for logging repairs.
